I think of it like that great story of the Chinese farmer whose horse runs away & then at every twist of fate, good or bad, he doesn’t take the bait that is a literal read of the situation where bad = bad.
In my own life I have the ‘Sneaky Pete Players’ (ifs like) & they show me things in a multitude of ways that I play with, like turning a faceted gem to catch the right light.
Like if I get a negative fear-based feeling maybe I am being shown that I now have much more ‘agency’ as I can now see that I don’t have to accept the scary message. So a scary message becomes a ‘sign’ to me that I can now have more choice in my ‘beliefs’ because I can now access that if it is terrifying me, it is not the truth. Then I get to be an awesome Great Mother to myself.
& so when I get ‘winks’ (or as you say, notice what is already abundant in my interconnected consciousness because it it’s nature) I embrace their trickster nature.
After all, it is teaching me to trust my intuition, since I turn the facet until it FEELS right…& that might be the ‘opposite’ of the literal message…
Kind of like a super cool lesson in individuation & sovereignty. My ‘feeling’ is even more right than a message ‘from the gods’. So many god damn lessons on this crazy planet 😂😉😂
Winks abound & I do feel like conciousness is getting ‘winkier’ in these strange daze!
Synchronicity is absolutely a smart ass! In my experience it’s often because it’s coming from spirit and spirit is cheeky and hilarious a lot of times. Always wrapped in love but also a riot.
Thanks River. This helps clarify something for me…in noticing and acknowledging synchronicity, we get to participate in a meaningful universe, and, a good way to collapse /disconnect that experience is to think that you’ve grasped THE meaning of, well, just about anything.
I wrote something along a similar lines about synchronicity the other week :)

Really enjoyed this! Discernment and not getting high on your own supply certainly helps.

I’m wondering to myself “does the quality of his thinking and writing go up and down or is it the headspace you’re in when you read his essays?
This is off the charts thinking and writing on a subject that is hard to capture and share with language.
And your humor about the birds and subscriptions was delightful. I hope your readers see lots of birds today.
